Stocks rise on the week despite 24-year-high yields
The S&P 500 gained 1.2%; the 10-year yield eased to about 5.25% after touching 5.37%.

The S&P 500 closed Friday at 7,811.54, up 1.2 percent on the week; the Dow ended at 51,654.95 and the Nasdaq at 27,366.17. The 10-year Treasury yield finished just under 5.25 percent after touching about 5.37 percent on Wednesday, its highest level in 24 years. Gold traded near 4,220 dollars.
Equities are absorbing the highest long-term rates since 2002 ahead of Wednesday's September inflation report. US bond markets are closed on Monday.
